Generate for Generations

Lillian Aero Olok's motivation to empower women in Uganda is truly amazing. Her community initiative,

GENERATE FOR GENERATIONS

along with sub-initiatives Namugongo Good Samaritan Project and Atwero, seeks to take on serious issues such as domestic violence, illiteracy, poverty, high child mortality rate and maternal death. Through counseling, family and community involvement and skills training, Lillian's initiative is "empowering the teenage mothers to be able to support themselves through skills that enable them to live an independent life." Now benefiting 200 women, Generate for Generation's objectives are changing lives of young women and their communities.

HOW DO PAPER BEADS BENEFIT THESE WOMEN?

Lillian's program provides women with support, community, and hands on training. Through creating paper beads, bags and accessories, these women develop creativity and confidence. Circle of Hands Uganda purchases these items directly from Lillian and her ladies, at Fair Trade standard rates. Through acquiring a self-made profit, these empowered women provide better livelihood and health for their families and themselves.
