We are now an official member of the Fair Trade Federation!

Circle of Hands Uganda is now an official member of the Fair Trade Federation!

We are thrilled to join a community of more than 250 North American companies that are fully committed to fair trade and creating greater equity in the global economy. This Fair Trade Federation membership provides legitimacy and support to the mission and values of Circle of Hands Uganda. This exciting achievement will provide growth, expand our possibilities, and allow us to continue to focus on the needs of our artisans in Uganda. Creating sustainable economic development with our fair trade practices will create a viable and successful future for women affected by poverty and HIV/AIDS in Uganda.

What does it mean to be a member of the Fair Trade Federation?

The FTF defines Fair Trade as “an approach to business and to development based on dialogue, transparency, and respect that seeks to create greater equity in the international trading system.” FTF members are dedicated to fair trade in all aspects of our businesses. We strive to improve the lives of artisans in countries affected by poverty, and to shake up the unethical principles in the standard international market. When you buy a product from a Fair Trade Federation Member, you know that your product was made and traded with the best interest of the artisans, the environment, and the global market.

As an Fair Trade Federation Member, we are dedicated to the following Principles:

Build Capacity   Promote Fair Trade   Pay Promptly and Fairly

Support Safe and Empowering Working Conditions     Ensure the Rights of Children

Cultivate Environmental Stewardship     Respect Cultural Identity
